We are looking for a
VP Business Development
As a VP Business Development, you are responsible for identifying, developing, and driving strategic business opportunities that support Canatu's long-term growth objectives across its business areas. The role focuses on the identification and due diligence of new market segments like mobility, robots, drones and defence. In addition, it is responsible for building and managing strategic customer relationships, commercial partnerships, ecosystem collaborations, that strengthen Canatu's market position and accelerate commercial success.
The position works closely with Business Unit leaders, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Product Development, and Operations teams to support revenue growth, market expansion, and the commercialization of Canatu's technologies and solutions. The VP Business Development reports to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Business Development
Develop and execute business development initiatives aligned with Canatu's growth strategy and commercial objectives.
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, markets, customer segments, and strategic growth initiatives.
Support the development and commercialization of new products, technologies, and business concepts across Canatu's business areas.
Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Development
Identify, establish, and manage strategic partnerships and ecosystem relationships that support business growth.
Develop collaborations with industry partners, technology companies, research organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
Lead or support negotiations related to strategic partnerships, cooperation agreements, licensing opportunities, and other commercial arrangements.
Customer and Market Development
Build and maintain relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
Support Business Units in developing new customers.
Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
Business Growth and Commercial Support
Work closely with Business Unit leaders and commercial teams to support revenue growth and market expansion.
Contribute to business planning, growth initiatives, and strategic projects.
Prepare business cases, market analyses, and strategic recommendations to support decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant university degree.
Fluent Business English.
Expertise in some of the following areas: Mobile Robotics (civil outdoor and/or military applications), Sensors, Cameras, Autonomous Driving, Semiconductors, or Medical Diagnostics.
Significant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercial leadership, sales, marketing, or related fields.
Proven track record in developing strategic customer relationships and business growth opportunities.
Strong commercial, strategic, and analytical capabilities.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in international business environments and technology-driven industries.
Ability to operate effectively across multiple business areas and manage complex cross-functional initiatives.
